Welcome to Mupu Elementary School

Welcome to Mupu School!

Mupu School has a long and treasured history in the Santa Paula area. We are a one-school district, established in 1879, and have served the families of the Santa Paula Canyon for over 130 years. During that time, Mupu School has maintained its reputation for being a school of high academic and behavioral standards.

We can't imagine a better place for a child to learn and grow. We hope you agree!

Our Mission

At Mupu School our goal is to ensure that all students achieve academic excellence. All members of our learning community are committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment that fosters academic achievement, personal growth, social responsibility, and proficiency in technology.

Catalina (7th/8th Grades): 4/14/14 - 4/18/14

CATALINA UPDATES

April 14:   On the ferry, the weather is beautiful and the ocean is calm.  Arrived safely and weather in Catalina is very nice!! Already kayaking --- tonight they will be dissecting squids.  Mrs. Nese had a happy encounter with a bison five feet away; how exciting! Students are happy and send their hellos to everyone! :)

April 15: Last night went well!  Students were tired and fell asleep pretty easily (a chaperone's dream come true!).  Students will snorkel this morning.  This afternoon they will participate in tide pooling activities.  This evening will be a marine mammals lab.  They are experiencing what it's like not to have phone and internet connections!

April 16: Another great night!  Things are going smoothly.  All the boys and three chaperones hiked to the "shrine" early this morning.  The girls and Mrs. Nese decided they would rather get some extra sleep.  The group will climb the rock wall today and participate in more marine life instruction.  The rooms have new mattresses that are very comfy...which puts everyone in a better mood upon rising!

April 17: Cold and windy.  "Brrrr," they said.  They are snorkeling today.  Hope the weather gets warmer!

The weather did get warmer.  They enjoyed snorkeling (saw great marine life), diving into the water (everyone...even the ones who were a little fearful of the water--very successful!), and eating barbequed hamburgers on the beach.  They took showers this afternoon and are getting ready for their nighttime labs and a night hike.  Mrs. Barnd is over there and says she is so excited by all the learning, fun, and good behavior.

It's been a great week at Catalina. Our students were really well behaved and great learners.  We are so proud!  Especially nice were the messages they sent back to Mupu every day letting us know that they miss us and are having a great time.  It's nice to see how siblings miss each other.  Awwww.
